Martin Luther King Jr., Impacted Technology More than you Think!

Today we remember a man who stood strong in the face of adversity; and because of it, helped change the world. However, we may not think of him much when it comes to technology. King stated,

"When we look at modern man, we have to face the fact that modern man suffers from a kind of poverty of the spirit, which stands in glaring contrast with a scientific and technological abundance. We've learned to fly the air as birds, we've learned to swim the seas as fish, yet we haven't learned to walk the Earth as brothers and sisters."

Perhaps the more obvious implication of his words are how far we still have to go. Nevertheless, since the civil rights movement, huge strides have been taken in the use of technology to help improve the rights of humans all around the world.

Today, technology is used to improve communication, aiding in humanitarian efforts abundantly. Technology has improved our quality of life, our efficiency, given us cures for terrible disease, and helped in modern warfare to reduce casualties and protect human rights as they are threatened by tyrants.

E-N Computers deals in helping organizations and businesses in their missions everyday by providing them with affordable and powerful IT infrastructures so that they can change the world and make it a better place. We not only remember Dr. King as a man who helped aid our nation in moving past and trying to correct terrible atrocities made to our brothers and sisters of African American descent, but a man who inspired change of the human heart, a man who taught us to stand strong in the face of adversity, to stand up for what is right, and to use the technological tools we have at hand to change the world for the better.
