Who are the best IT providers in Charlottesville, VA? Here at E-N Computers, we meet with lots of people who want to get the best technology support for their home or business. As much as we’d love to “do it all”, not every opportunity is a good fit for our services. Our clients are businesses that want a partner who will fully manage their IT systems or support an internal IT department. We take a proactive, holistic approach by building an IT-business strategy with you.
Even if that’s not what you’re looking for, we want you to find the technology solution that is right for you. So we put together this list of great Charlottesville IT providers.
Being in the IT industry since 1997, I’ve gotten to know many Virginia IT providers and business owners. It has been my pleasure to meet with local IT leaders at industry trade shows and conferences. We get to know their work when we perform third-party audits and IT assessments. And from time to time, we transitions businesses to or from other providers because of changes in management or ownership.
These experiences have shaped my Top 5 list of Charlottesville, Virginia IT service providers. In no particular order they are Top Notch, Quick Fix, Arcane Technologies, NWG Solutions, and Advanced Network Solutions. Read on to find out a little about each of them.
Top Notch
Top Notch Computers is a family-owned provider of residential and commercial IT services. They got their start in residential computer repair and continue to provide quality service to residential customers. Some of their services are hardware repairs, custom builds, data recovery, and virus removal.
Business clients have the option of a la carte or managed plans from Top Notch. Both are charged at an hourly rate, though the managed plan includes a set number of support hours at a discounted rate. If you’re looking for as-needed services for your business, their a la carte offering might be what you’re looking for.
QuickFix
QuickFix also provides services to residential and business customers. The company was founded by Bryant Harrison, who brings a fun-loving, people-focused approach to IT support.
For business customers, QuickFix offers managed services in a good-better-best price structure. This means at the low end you’ll be billed additionally for on-site support, technology review and IT budget preparation, and security testing. Their focus on proactively protecting clients from ransomware and other security risks is particularly great for small businesses that may not know where to begin.
Arcane
Arcane Technologies offers technology integration services to home and business clients. If you’re looking to improve site security with cameras, physical access control, and intrusion detection they are a great resource. Arcane also designs and implements audio/video, lighting and shading, and climate control solutions that all take advantage of network-based controls and automations.
NWG
Unlike the first three picks, NWG Solutions works solely with business clients. Their managed services are primarily made up of remote monitoring, maintenance, and support options. Risk analysis and reporting packages are available separately if you want help finding room for improvement or proving compliance.
Advanced Network Systems
Advanced Network Systems has been around since 1996. They got their start as network engineers, then expanded to be a value added reseller, and into their present form as a managed IT services provider for businesses.
Support from ANS focuses on remote maintenance and fixing things as they break. They also place an emphasis on project support, making them a great behind-the-scenes resource for an existing IT department.
Wrap-up
Many IT service providers focus on remote support and offer limited site visits. They’ll usually charge a hefty hourly rate for any on-site support and may even charge for remote support over a set amount of hours. These measures may help you keep costs low, but it can also make it harder to get the support you need when you need it.
E-N Computers strives to provide a well-balanced, complete solution for your IT needs. Our managed services include unlimited help desk, regular site visits, strategic consulting, and everything else so that you can focus on your core business. If you have an internal IT department already, we can co-manage, providing them coverage and support for even greater success.
If you’re a Charlottesville business, we would love to work with you on building and implementing a technology strategy that supports your business goals. To that end, we’ve put together an IT Self-Assessment that will help you determine what improvements you can make to your IT. It takes just a few minutes, after which you’ll get a list of action items and can book a free strategy session. We look forward to talking with you!
