With more than 35, 000 practices using Dentrix®, the popular dental practice management software, has released an upgrade with another coming soon. This upgrade is based on customer feedback and a few of the enhancements will make dental practices work more efficiently and communicate more effectively. Dentrix provides solutions for the business side and the clinical side of a practice. Their software uses integrated eServices to add capabilities to an office network.
Some of the new features that you can access now include:
• Questionnaire Form Improvements
Now you can view and fill out the questionnaires without excessive scrolling through pages. There’s also a new design that allows more space for form questions.
Since they have updated the patient information area – now you can easily reconcile your patient’s information from a questionnaire with their Family File information using side-by-side features.
You will be able to run Dentrix as a standard Windows user.
Dentrix will issue another upgrade soon – G6.2 upgrade to G6.3.

• Practice Advisor Improvements
Treatment Plan Case Acceptance Totals and Amount of Treatment Accepted and Diagnosed have been upgraded to more accurately reflect the status of each of these key performance areas. You will be able to select only Dentists or only Hygienists to review specific groups.
• Medical Cross Coding
Soon you will be able to share diagnostic codes between Dental and Medical procedures eliminating a double entry.
• Miscellaneous Enhancements include:
Using the F5 key to Refresh in all modules
The Edit or Delete Procedure dialog allows the Override Dental Insurance Estimate information to update.
• Appointment Book Production
Also an added option that allows a practice to calculate production amounts based on an adjusted total so you can see how you’re tracking against insurance write-offs, refunds, etc.
The G6.3 updates are not available yet, but the G6.2 updates are.
At E-N Computers, we provide IT management and solutions for over 20 Dental clients. This week, our technician, Rodney Cook did an upgrade for one of our clients and provided some important advice, “Upgraded Dentrix from G6 to G6.2 tonight for Dr. Bach. A little more involved than a typical in line upgrade. This update took some time and needed to be run at each workstation as well. There is a passphrase that needs to be added to each workstation, during their upgrade, post server installation (which is why it required interaction with each workstation). This will need to occur OR Dentrix will not log in for staff.”
