Go beyond the standard MSP model with proactive onsite services

Administration

At E-N Computers, we go beyond the standard MSP model by offering proactive onsite services as part of our managed IT support. We’ve developed this service over nearly 30 years of experience serving highly regulated industries like defense contractors, nonprofits and health care.

With regularly scheduled onsite visits, our dedicated technicians can catch and prevent issues before they disrupt your operations. This level of personalized service is rare among MSPs and ensures that your IT infrastructure stays secure, efficient, and fully optimized—giving you peace of mind and more time to focus on your business.

You’ll have an onsite technician assigned to you that will visit on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis, depending on your needs and the complexity of your systems.

What to expect

In the past, an onsite day usually involved a physical visit to your workplace – thus the name “onsite” day.

As technology has changed, we are now able to offer onsite or “focus” days even to our fully remote clients. A virtual onsite day becomes an eight-hour block of time devoted to scheduled proactive management and scheduled changes.

Advanced planning

We’ll look over your open tickets and talk with you to create a prioritized task list before we arrive. This way, the tech can bring everything they will need to do the work.

When the technician arrives, they will first check in with you to go over the plan. We reserve half the day for administrative tasks and use the other half for change management and support tasks.

Administration

Hardware checks

We check the status of these systems on each visit: Warning lights and cabling, network storage, virtual servers, firewall rules, Meraki security logs, operating systems, and backups for power, internet, and VPN

Documentation checks

Keeping your documentation up to date allows our help desk and the rest of our team to provide the best support possible. We update inventory, confirm end dates for hardware or licenses, femove expired hardware from our remote management software, check certificate expirations and DNS records, update vendor contact information, and keep current photos of your network closet for reference

Network equipment check

We want to make sure your network equipment is always on the latest firmware. If it’s not, we’ll create a ticket to have it updated by one of our engineers. For security, we’ll also make sure that any unused network ports are made inactive.

Data accessibility check

We review permissions and group membership to make sure that only authorized users have access to your data. We also check for old accounts and unintended remote access.

Change management and support

Half a day

We set aside four hours per visit for change management and support. If more time is needed, the work can be scheduled for your next visit or billed separately.

Change management

We install, move, change, or remove hardware or systems without disruption.

Manual patching

Most updates happen automatically. If they fail or need to be done manually, we can usually do this during your visit.

Support tickets

Most support requests we receive can be handled remotely. Problems that can’t be resolved remotely and are not urgent are scheduled for your next onsite visit.

We keep you in the loop

We communicate with you before your visit, at the start, and at the end so that you always know what’s going on. We confirm changes before we make them and promptly inform you of any areas of concern. And we recap with you at the end of the day, so you know what was done and whether anything is still pending.

For each visit, you receive:

  • Regular hardware and software checks
  • Up-to-date documentation and inventory
  • Permissions verification for data security
  • Open communication

The ENC difference

Our proactive approach shows a higher level of commitment to a client’s long-term IT health by preventing issues before they arise rather than just responding to emergencies.

Case Study

From reactive to proactive IT

Washington, DC athletic conference transforms IT with E-N Computers’ onsite visits and preventative service

When Martha Perez took over finance at Atlantic 10, IT tickets clogged her inbox, equipment lifecycles were a mystery, and no one had a plan for cybersecurity. That all changed when E-N Computers came on board.

The key difference was E-N Computers’ hands-on approach.

“The thing that sold me is the monthly visit, because we never had that before,” Perez said. “There’s just some things that are better in person.”

The team started sending a technician on site every single month to check in, resolve small issues before they turned into big problems, and make sure everything was up to date.

During these visits, E-N Computers’ team reviews service tickets and  performs health checks on computers and network equipment.

Monthly account reviews became a cornerstone of the new partnership. Perez meets regularly with Technical Account Manager Kevin Griffith, Administrative Account Manager Amy Birckhead, Network & System Engineer Henry Rice, and other team members to review open tickets, plan upcoming projects, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

“That gives me peace of mind,” Perez said, “because at least once a month, we’re all looking at our account, making sure nothing is falling through the cracks.”

This proactive approach has made a huge difference. Instead of reacting to problems when they arise, E-N Computers finds and fixes issues early. They’ve implemented a clear hardware replacement schedule, addressed cybersecurity weaknesses, and cut Microsoft license costs by more than 50%. All these improvements help the Atlantic 10 avoid disruptions and keep their operations running smoothly.

“It is a lot more expensive. But we know it’s because the old company had never increased their fees, and they were losing a lot of money on us,” Perez explained. “For the services we get, everyone understood E-N Computers was worth the cost.”

The combination of regular onsite visits and forward-looking service has turned their IT from a reactive expense into a well-managed, reliable asset.
