Security that’s attainable regardless of size

Cybersecurity for small businesses

Security risk assessment

A security risk assessment identifies weaknesses in your current security. Our security audit includes an interview, phishing test, and network vulnerability scan. You receive a report of our findings. We can also provide a Cyber Insurance Assessment that shows this information in the context of insurer questions and requirements.

Get expert guidance on technology solutions that enhance security while meeting your budget and functional needs. The goal is to integrate security into a streamlined process that makes your business more resilient.

Identity and Access Management

Protect your digital workplace with intelligent authentication technologies. We implement multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and privileged access management to control system access. Our solutions like password managers and AutoElevate limit admin rights while maintaining user productivity, safeguarding your network from unauthorized entry and potential insider threats.

Network security

Take advantage of cloud-based DNS security to filter out malicious web traffic before it enters your network. We can implement Cisco Umbrella to protect you against ransomware, botnets, and other targeted attacks. This added layer of security protects against modern threats that your firewall alone cannot.

Endpoint Detection & Response

We use Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, a comprehensive EDR solution that provides unified security management across Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile devices. Our tool leverages global threat intelligence and machine learning to detect, investigate, and automatically respond to potential security threats across all network endpoints.

Incident response and recovery

Develop an incident response plan that identifies your response team, their roles, and the processes you will follow to get up and running. We’d love to help you put this in place before something happens.

A backup and disaster recovery plan is the best way to recover from a ransomware attack without paying a ransom. Our team will help you identify your critical data and systems, implement a backup solution, and test it.

You can’t afford to skip security

Your office manager knows how to add a user to your network or email system. But do they know how to use the security dashboard, limit user access based on job roles, and enable multi-factor authentication?

If you’re like one of the hundreds of businesses that have come to us over the past 30 years, it’s more likely that your users have broad rights that leave your data and systems exposed. One compromised account can bring down your whole network, result in data breach or loss, and cause financial harm to you and your clients.

Weak security has real consequences

One client came to us after losing $150,000 to fraudulent invoices after email system breach
  • Another experienced employee salary data extortion. Threat actors acquired employee data and posted salaries online.

Recovering after a cyberattack

Quick fix for a $150,000 email mistake

One small company came to us for help securing their network after a breach. What happened? Hackers gained access to their email system and used it to send out fraudulent invoices. The company’s clients paid false invoices to the tune of almost $150,000. Insurance did not cover the losses.

The hackers accessed a global admin account and from there created their own email account. The organization did not use multifactor authentication

We got rid of the bad account, required everyone to update their passwords and set up MFA. Not having MFA was a costly mistake.

Back to work after a $500,000 ransomware attack

Another small company came to us after they became a victim of ransomware and extortion. Hackers acquired employee data and posted salaries online.

While we got the business operational in about a week, it took three months for them to become fully functional again.

We had to rebuild what they had with limited resources during the pandemic, even scrounging up used firewalls since new ones weren’t available.

A backup disk hadn’t been working for months.  However, we were at least able to restore the older data. The business had an outdated Exchange server, which we promptly migrated to Microsoft 365.

Organizations can avoid these costly breaches with managed IT services. But if the worst has already happened, we can help you get secured and back in business as soon as possible.
