See our pricing page for more details.

Where are you located?

How does onsite service work?

Onsite days are divided into two segments of four hours each. The first part of the day is devoted to documentation updates, hardware checking, and routine maintenance for your systems. These many small steps avoid big problems like outages or security breaches. The second part is for hands-on support tickets and for what we call “change management.” Change management involves adding, moving, changing, or removing hardware or systems in a way that doesn’t disrupt service.

Onsite days are available as part of some of our managed services packages or as an optional addon. The number of onsite days we recommend depends on the size and complexity of your business.

How do my employees get in touch with you for help?

How do you provide IT strategy?

We meet with you quarterly to review your IT needs and budget.

What happens after I sign a contract? How long does it take?

We take about one month to fully onboard a new client, regardless of whether they have no IT, internal IT, or are switching from another MSP. To see the steps involved, see how we transition you to our services.

What are some reasons we should NOT work with you?

Potential clients are often worried about their MSPs location, length of contract, accountability and finger pointing. In this case, we have our headquarters in Waynesboro, which allows local onsite service to Fairfax. Our contracts are month to month, so nobody is stuck. As far as accountability and finger pointing are concerned, we favor accountability and dislike finger pointing. A lot of people, vendors and technologies are involved in IT, and we have to step up and work together, not shift blame. There’s no checklist you can follow and no software you can use that can solve the issue of pointing fingers. It comes from the personality of the team or person you are working with. If this is not your style, you might not want to work with us.

Resources for choosing Fairfax managed IT services

Managed IT services aren’t cheap. And changing from in-house to outsourced IT or from one IT MSP to another can seem almost like more pain that it’s worth.

How do you evaluate your options when it seems you’re forced to compare apples to oranges with different pricing models, services, experience levels and response times between one IT MSP and another?

Here are some of the most common questions we hear, and both a short and a long version of an answer.

A well-informed client is our best partner in providing managed IT services. We aren’t the right IT MSP for everyone. But if we are the right one for you, we want to make it easy to know it.

Choosing between managed IT services versus another type of IT service

What is a managed IT service provider?

An IT managed service provider, or MSP, delivers outsourced IT administration and support to businesses either at an hourly rate or as a monthly subscription. The best MSPs will keep your systems up to date, prevent problems, and work with you to develop a technology strategy that makes your business stronger.

What are the benefits of managed IT services?

Benefits of managed IT services can include lower costs, up-to-date technology, stronger security measures, reliability and access to experts. Managed IT services like ours that include strategy can improve productivity.

What are the disadvantages of outsourcing your IT?

Prospective clients often worry about having less control, slower response times, and higher costs. We address these concerns by collaborating with decision makers on a technology roadmap and budget, implementing scalable support processes, and reducing hidden and direct IT-related costs. We offer affordable, straightforward pricing for businesses that want a strategy-focused technology partner.

What is the difference between break/fix and managed IT services?

As its name suggests, break-fix services refer to the practice of only calling on a professional IT company when something breaks and you just want them to fix it or when an upgrade is needed. Managed services are a proactive approach to IT. So instead of waiting for an issue to pop up, your managed service provider solves issues before they can affect the end-user.

What are the advantages of in-house versus outsourced IT services?

With the right management strategy, staffing, tooling, and procedures, an in-house IT department can provide outsized value to your company, especially as technology becomes increasingly important to businesses in every vertical.

But the honest truth is that most small-to-midsize companies – those under 250 employees or so – will find it difficult to find and dedicate the resources that it takes to build a fully insourced IT department. For most businesses of that size, compromises will need to be made that will prevent the IT team from providing the level of service that’s required in today’s business environment. To fill in these gaps, your business will want to consider outsourcing some or all IT functions to a third-party vendor.

Evaluating one IT managed service provider versus another

How to choose a managed IT services provider?

Not all MSPs are the same, so take time to learn about the helpdesk response, on-site support, backups and disaster recovery, vendor partnerships, industry expertise, consulting and strategy, and pricing model of each. The best MSPs are true partners that take a proactive approach to support, maintenance, and building an IT strategy that aligns with your business goals.

Transitioning from one IT service provider to another

How do I switch IT providers?

First, make sure you’re clear on your reasons for switching. Then do research to pick a new one that will fit your needs. Once you’ve secured your new IT MSP, you can notify your old one that you are terminating services and begin making plans for the transition. Your ability to switch may be affected by contract terms, leasing, and licensing arrangements.

What are keys to a successful IT transition?

Use your time wisely. Make sure your organization has full control of IT accounts, a clear plan for continuing to provide service, and complete documentation of key systems and data – including maintenance and backup processes.

How do I get out of my current IT MSP contract?

First, talk to your IT managed service provider. If you can’t resolve issues, then find out if they will waive an early termination fee. They may want to end the relationship as much as you do.
