Because it can be a challenge to find and retain IT help, some companies look to IT staffing agencies to fill positions. Staffing agencies make money by charging employers a percentage of the hired person’s wages. For permanent employees, this is usually anywhere from 15% to 30% of the first year’s salary. For temp or contract workers, it can be a 25% to 75% markup on the hourly rate.
When talking about permanent IT positions, especially senior systems administrators, network engineers, and other skilled positions that have a salary around $70,000 or more, that is a hefty fee! We avoid using staffing agencies because of that.
So rather than tell you which staffing agencies are best based on our personal experience, this is a list of which IT staffing agencies we hear from frequently. They are very selective about who they hire—in fact they claim that they hire less than 0.3% of applicants—and those employees tend to stay with them for years.
TekOne — Best IT staffing for low voltage and structured cabling

We haven’t had the opportunity to work with TekOne yet, but we will likely work with them in the future on some low voltage projects. They also provide other IT staffing. Based on our discussions with them so far, we’re happy with their pricing and work style.
